James "Jim" F. Belote Obituary
James F. Belote, 84, loving husband of Fleurette Belote, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at Yale New Haven Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hartford, CT on May 24, 1939, he was the son of the late Adelaide (Roberts) Belote.
James was a member of the First Assembly of God in Meriden and retired from Yankee Gas in 2005. Jim was a proud Veteran who served four years in the United States Air Force. He served two terms as a councilman for the City of Meriden. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who loved to spend time with his family telling stories about his life “back in the day” and had a love for eagles.
In addition to his loving wife of 59 years, Fleurette, he is survived by his two children, Steven Belote and his wife Lisa, and Leigh Belote and her partner Anthony Ferraro, all of Meriden and his three cherished grandchildren, Ryan (Skye) Belote, Matthew Belote, Emily (Tyler) LeNeave. He is also survived by his four precious great grandchildren, Carter and Lucy Belote and Garrett and Tatum LeNeave and many extended family members. He was predeceased by his cousin, Patricia Gineo.
Jim never missed his children and grandchildren’s sporting events, celebrations, or birthdays. He believed in the Lord and that family mattered most.
Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Tuesday, January 23rd from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450.
